The price of world free-market sugar can be one of the most volatile commodities as the price has traded in a range from 2.27 to 66 cents per pound since the 1970s. In my latest piece for Seeking Alpha, I look at the recent price action in the sugar futures market on the Intercontinental Exchange. The soft commodity has a substantial price correlation with the South American currency from the nation that is the world’s leading producer and exporter.
