In 2016, the world was shocked when pollsters got elections dead wrong and market volatility increased dramatically but until recently it seemed that things were back to normal and the status quo would prevail in 2017. In my latest work for Seeking Alpha, I explain why last week’s election results from the U.K. are a reminder that the status quo is not necessarily back in vogue and why the French election results were a reflection of the candidate rather than the movement that is likely to cause market volatility to increase in the weeks and months ahead.
