Hogs are Pigs But A New Coat Of Lipstick Is On The Horizon

The price of lean hog futures fell to the lowest level since 2002 when they traded at 41.1 cents per pound last week. In my latest piece for Seeking Alpha, I examine the current oversupply in the pork market that has caused the price to fall to one-third the level seen in 2014, explain why it is not likely to last long, and suggest some ways to play for a correction using a mean reversion trade against live cattle.
